ClipStack

Clipboard history that lives in the menu bar.

The ClipStack picker open over a reply in Arcforma Mail: a search field, recent clippings with the app each came from and a Cmd number to paste it, and the selected snippet of Swift in the preview pane.

Press Shift Cmd V, type a few characters of something you copied earlier, hit return, and it is pasted into whatever you were typing in.

Written in Swift as a single package with no dependencies. The history is an ordinary SQLite file, so you can open it in any database browser and see exactly what it kept and nothing more.
